Bob King (actually Robert Wade King ; born June 20, 1906 in Los Angeles , California , † July 29, 1965 in Walnut Creek , California) was an American high jumper and Olympic champion .

At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , he won 1.94 meters in front of his compatriot Benjamin Hedges and the French Claude Ménard , who both jumped 1.91 meters. Harold Osborn , the world record holder and defending champion , also placed fifth with 1.91 meters .

In 1927 and 1928 he won the championship of the Amateur Athletic Union in 1927 and 1928. In these two years he also led the world annual best list.

Bob King was 1.90 cm tall and weighed 79 kg during his playing days.
