Alma Wilford Richards (born February 20, 1890 in Parowan , Utah , † April 3, 1963 in Long Beach , California ) was an American athlete .
He won at the Olympic Games in 1912 in Stockholm with 1.93 meters the gold medal in the high jump at the German Hans Lie (1.91 meters) and reigning world champion George Horine (1.89 meters), which only a few weeks before the Olympic Games with a new style that went down in sports history as a western scooter , the first person to jump over two meters. Richards was the first inhabitants of the State of Utah , the Olympic champion was.
