Hubert Wilfan (born February 11, 1922 in Feldkirchen in Carinthia ; † November 1, 2007 in Vienna ) was an Austrian sculptor .

Hubert Wilfan attended the secondary school and the applied arts school in Graz . In a workshop for church sculpture he did his craft training. He studied from 1949 to 1952 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Fritz Wotruba . From 1966 to 1982 he taught at the Technical College in Vienna I.

He was a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus .

Wilfan developed a very independent formal language, with which he tried to express psychological elements, especially in portrait busts of Leon Askin , Leonard Bernstein , Marc Chagall , Oskar Werner , Bruno Kreisky , among others . He also became known for his design of Oslo Square in Vienna-Donaustadt and the monument by Fridtjof Nansen on the campus of Tromsø University in Norway.

From 1945 until his death, Wilfan was married to his Norwegian wife Lillian and had a daughter and a son with her. Hubert Wilfan was buried at the Grinzinger Friedhof (group 1, row B, number 119).
