Manfred Rautenberg

Manfred Rautenberg (born December 8, 1942 ) was a football player in Magdeburg and Babelsberg . For 1. FC Magdeburg he played between 1966 and 1968 in the GDR Oberliga , the top soccer class of the GDR soccer association.

Life

Rautenberg came to BSG Motor Mitte as a teenager in the mid-1950s from the small company sports club Post Magdeburg, from which the 1. FC Magdeburg later developed through the SC structure. In the meantime, Rautenberg played for the second-rate GDR league club BSG Turbine Magdeburg until 1965 . Turbine was relegated to the district league in the summer of 1965 , and Rautenberg returned to SC Aufbau Magdeburg, which had played in the GDR Oberliga since 1960. There Rautenberg, now 23 years old, made his first appearances in the top division in the last games of the 1965/66 season. On April 8, 1966, the 21st matchday, he was called up in the encounter Vorwärts Berlin - 1. FC Magdeburg as a left midfielder. By the end of the season he played a total of four point games, all in midfield of the Magdeburg team. The FCM ended the season knocked off bottom of the table and had to relegate to the GDR league . There Rautenberg was only used in one game, on May 1, 1967, the 27th matchday, at TSG Wismar - 1. FCM (3: 3). Three game days later, the FCM was promoted back to the league. Also in his second league season, Rautenberg was called up late in only three point games, now in the defense area. At the end of the 1967/68 season he left Magdeburg with a record of seven league games and a GDR league use.

At the beginning of the 1968/69 season, Rautenberg registered with BSG Motor Babelsberg , which had just been relegated to the third-class Potsdam district league. In 1973 he won the district championship with Babelsberg and played with BSG Motor until the end of the 1979/80 season in the GDR league. He then ended his sports career at the age of 37.
