history

The place was first mentioned in 1313 as "Cottensdorf", an associated mill was mentioned as early as 800 as Dragamuzil's mill. In 1339 the place was mentioned as "Kotensdorf" and in 1356 as "Codmannsdorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name of the founder Codmann. Originally the Ebrach monastery was a feudal lord, in 1313 Ramung von Kammerstein acquired an estate. In the 13th century the place consisted of 9 whole courtyards. In 1434 19 properties were recorded in the margravial Salbuch , of which 1 mill, 6 estates and 1 selde were subordinate to the margraviate and 6 estates and 5 selden estates belonged to foreign owners. In 1530 only 13 properties were listed, of which 1 mill, 2 courtyards and 2 half-courtyards were subordinate to the margrave and 8 goods belonging to the imperial city of Nuremberg . In 1623 the number of households increased to 15. The two new properties were subordinate to the caste office in Schwabach . At the end of the 18th century there were 24 properties in Kottensdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The caste office Schwabach held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the principality of Ansbach (14 properties; caste office Schwabach: 3 whole courtyards, 1 half courtyard, 1 half courtyard with cones, 2 small farms, 1 small farm with forge, 3 empty houses , 1 grinding mill; Chancellery Ansbach : 2 Köblergüter ), the imperial city of Nuremberg ( St. Klara-Klosteramt : 1 Ganzhof, 1 Dreiviertelhof, 1 Gütlein; St. Katharina-Klosteramt : 1 Ganzhof; Landesalmosenamt: 1 Ganzhof) and Nuremberg owners ( von Behaim : 1 Ganzhof, 1 Köblergut; von Ebner : 1 Viertelhof; von Imhoff : 1 Dreiviertelhof, 1 Gütlein). In addition to the property, there was also the branch church and communal buildings (school, shepherd's house). In 1801 there were 22 properties in the village, 11 of which belonged to the Principality of Ansbach.

As part of the municipal edict, Kottensdorf was assigned to the Regelsbach tax district , Section II , in 1808 . It belonged to the rural community of Gustenfelden formed in 1818 . On May 1, 1978, Kottensdorf was incorporated into Rohr as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
