history

In 1313 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Putzenrewt" in the fiefdom of Ramung IV von Kammerstein . The place name has the personal name of the founder Putz as a defining word and -reuth as the basic word , ie "To clear the plaster". The burgraviate of Nuremberg had claims in the place, followed by the margraviate of Ansbach . In the margravial Salbuch of 1434, 3 goods are given for “Puczenreu e t”. In the Salbuch of 1623, three other properties were named in addition to these goods, two of which were subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg and one to the Frauentraut Foundation in Schwabach. In 1732 there were 3 properties in Putzenreuth, according to Johann Georg Vetter's description of the upper office, of which 1 property belonged to the caste office in Schwabach, 1 property from the Frauentraut Foundation and 1 property to the rich alms of the imperial city of Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 5 properties and a community pastor's house in Putzenreuth. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The caste office Schwabach held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the principality of Ansbach (box office Schwabach: 2 half yards, 1 Köblergut ; Frauentraut Foundation: 1 half yard) and the state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (1 half yard). In 1802 there were still 5 properties in the village, which were subordinate to the same landlords.

As part of the municipal edict, Putzenreuth was assigned to the Unterreichenbach tax district in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Unterreichenbach formed in 1818 , which was renamed Volkersgau on June 9, 1960 , after Unterreichenbach was reclassified to Schwabach . On May 1, 1978 Putzenreuth was reclassified to Kammerstein as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
