history

In the 13th century the place probably consisted of a whole courtyard. In 1340 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Schattenhouen". In 1349 the farm was still owned by the Lords of Nassau . In the following period the place came to the burgraviate of Nuremberg . The farmer who lived in the shadow courtyard had to mow three meadows for the lords of the castle and was also assigned to the castle guard. In return, he received food from the castle kitchen. In their successor, the shadow court came to the Principality of Ansbach . In the margravial Salbuch of 1434 two courtyards are given for “shadow courtyards”, in 1530 only one. In 1623 there were again two farms. In 1732 there was a farm and an estate in Schattenhof, according to Johann Georg Vetter's description of the upper office , which, however, included almost no fields.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Schattenhof belonged to Kammerstein. There were 2 properties in Schattenhof. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The Ganzhof and the Köblergut had the caste office Schwabach as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Schattenhof was given house numbers 30 to 31 in the village of Kammerstein. In 1802 there were still 2 properties in the village.

As part of the community edict , in 1808 Schattenhof was assigned to the Kammerstein tax district . It also belonged to the rural community Kammerstein formed in 1818 .
