history

The place was first mentioned in 1272 as "Hegendorf". An Albrecht Rindsmaul sold all his possessions in and around Hegendorf to the Nuremberg citizen Usefulel . The name Hengdorf is interpreted as Heng / Hage, also Hai, which means something like Umhege (protection through fencing or thick hedges). The name can definitely be traced back to Albrecht Rindsmaul, who also had possessions in Heng (near Neumarkt). The lords of Rindsmaul probably came from the house of the lords of Heng, who can be traced back to the imperial service in the 12th century. The most important representative of the family, alongside Hermann Rindsmaul, was his brother or cousin Albert, who was in the service of Emperor Heinrich VI in the 1190s . rise, interim represented the "mighty" Markward von Annweiler as Reichstruchsess during the emperor's move to Rome and stayed at the ruler's death camp in 1197 together with Otnand von Eschenau. Therefore, the interpretation of Hengdorf as the village of the Lords of Heng is very obvious.

The Thirty Years' War from 1618 to 1648 brought the worst hardship . Whole families died out as a result of the war and the plague. The village was only revived by exiles from Upper Austria, who were expelled from the "Landl ob der Ems" during the Counter Reformation. After the Thirty Years' War, more than a third of the parishioners were made up of emigrants, mostly from Carinthia.

In 1732 there were 3 properties in Hengdorf, according to the descriptions of the Oberamts by Johann Georg Vetter . 2 properties were subordinate to the office of St. Klara of the imperial city of Nuremberg , 1 property to the Nuremberg owner von Vorteilel. At the end of the 18th century there were 4 properties in Hengdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The place did not have a congregation ruler. The landlords were the imperial city of Nuremberg (Landesalmosenamt: 1 half courtyard; Office St. Klara and Pillenreuth: 2 whole courtyards) and the Nuremberg owner von Orte (1 half courtyard). In 1800 there were 3 properties in the village.

As part of the municipal edict, Hengdorf was assigned to the Regelsbach tax district , II. Section in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Regelsbach formed in 1818 . On May 1, 1978, Hengdorf was incorporated into the new large municipality of Rohr as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

Since 1901, Hengdorf has had its own volunteer fire brigade (FF), which split off from FF Regelsbach , which was founded 25 years earlier . In 1904 the place Nemsdorf was added. The fire brigade has since been called the Hengdorf-Nemsdorf Voluntary Fire Brigade. In 1946 the comrades from Göckenhof followed. However, the name has not been changed. The FF Hengdorf-Nemsdorf has had a vehicle ( TSF-W ) and an extended fire station since 1994 . In 2001 the 100th anniversary was celebrated.

In 2012 a farmer built a biogas plant above the village , which has been supplying 17 houses in Hengdorf with heat for heating and hot water since 2013.
