Manfred Reichelt

Manfred Reichelt (* 1947 in Altenmarkt ; † 1996 ) was a German painter , glass engraver and fan painter . Above all, his numerous wall paintings in restaurants and public buildings still testify to his fame in the Bavarian region.

life and work

As a young man, Manfred Reichelt trained as a reverse glass painter and glass engraver. Early on he was drawn to peasant painting. He later worked as a church painter. Most recently he gained national fame as a fan of the arts. His creativity brought him to Berlin until the Green Weeks .

His lifelong alcoholism was a great strain on the family and ultimately led to his death. His children are artistically active in various fields. Daughter Anja Becker, for example, works in textile design and leads dirndl sewing courses, the youngest son Andreas Artur Reichelt works as a writer and illustrator of his own children's books. The latter's experiences with difficult family relationships were processed in a novella entitled Chain of Events .
