Manfred Schleker

Manfred Schleker (born May 5, 1937 in Hayingen / Swabian Alb ; † October 26, 2015 ) was a German sociologist .

Schleker received his doctorate in sociology in 1982 at the University of Stuttgart with a thesis on the civil-military relationship in the Federal Republic of Germany. He then worked as an officer in the Bundeswehr , most recently as a colonel in the general staff service. He was also active in the diplomatic service . From 1986 to 1989 he was director of the Theodor Heuss Academy of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Gummersbach . He also worked as a professor at the University of Bonn and as a freelance course director.
