The Manicou River is a river on the west coast of Dominica . It runs in the Parish of St. John and empties into the Douglas Bay into the Caribbean Sea .
geography
The Manicou River rises in the western summit area of the Morne aux Diables ( ⊙ ). Another source river rises a little further north. The source streams flow westwards on a steep slope and unite after about a kilometer. From there the river flows steadily in a westerly direction, passes Everton Hall Estate in the south and flows into Douglas Bay at Savanne Paile (Tanetane). The catchment area of the small Toucari River and the larger Lamothe River connects to the north and the Salt River to the south . The connecting road from Tanetane to Penville in the east of the island partly follows the river valley as it climbs over the slopes of the Morne aux Diables.
