The Mannagetta oven is a rock needle in the Koralpe , municipality of Stainz (until 2014: Marhof ). It is a natural monument and named after Peter Beck-Mannagetta , the long-time chief geologist at the Federal Geological Institute in Vienna .

The name " furnace " comes from the usage of the area and emphasizes the distinctive, unusual shape of the rock: the Mannagetta furnace forms an approximately 8 to 10 m high pile of rock slabs ( "slab gneiss" ). Overall (including the base of the rock needle) it is 50 m long and 30 m wide. There are other ovens in its vicinity. As with other striking rock formations in the Koralpe, its formation can be traced back to varying degrees of weathering of the rock layers. Its exposure is attributed to the frosts of the ice age and the associated soil flow.

The Mannagetta kiln is located at 685 m above sea level in the Mausegger Graben, about 2.2 km as the crow flies northwest of Sauerbrunn on an old, not preserved and unmarked cart path to a now derelict mill in the Mausegger Graben. It was first made known to a wider public by Peter Beck-Mannagetta and, at his instigation, declared a natural monument in 1966.

The Mannagetta Oven is on a steep mountain slope. It is surrounded by boulders and fallen trees. His visit requires, although an old path is used, surefootedness in unpaved terrain. The access path branches off about 230 steps west of the edge of the forest after the farm vlg. Höller (before crossing the stream) from the marked Sauerbrunn-Schneebauer-Sporiroaofen hiking trail to the left into the valley. Next to the last part of this path there are steep slopes with several meter high rocks.

On the opposite side of the Mausegger Graben, on an equally steep mountain slope, there is another remarkable rock formation, the Sporiroa furnace.

The natural monument is registered in the land register as a "rock column Mannagettaofen", an area of 149 m² is protected around it. The basis for protection as a natural monument in 2010 is a decision from the Deutschlandsberg district administration. The owner is the Order of Malta , Grand Priory of Austria.
