Life

The actress was of Anglo-Indian origin and began her film career in the mid-1920s with the film company Madan Theaters in Calcutta under the director Jyotish Bannerjee . In the early 1930s she moved to BN Sircars newly founded company New Theaters , where she appeared in films by Prafulla Roy and Charu Roy in particular . In 1936 she played the leading role of Annapurna in Annapurnar Mandir alongside Chhabi Biswas . From the mid-1930s she also appeared in her film company's Hindi films, such as Anath Ashram (1936) by Hemchandra Chunder , Dushman (1938) by Nitin Bose and Zindagi (1940) by PC Barua .
