Manuel Alonso
Manuel Alonso de Areyzaga (born November 12, 1895 in San Sebastián , † October 11, 1984 in Madrid ) was a Spanish tennis player .
Alonso was the first Spanish tennis player with international fame until Manuel Santana in the 1960s. The Spaniard was in the top 10 of the tennis world for three years from 1925 to 1927. His best placing in 1926 was number two.
Alonso played 25 games for the Spanish Davis Cup team and won 14 matches. His record is 14-11. In 1977 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame .
