from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manuel Antonio González Valenzuela (* 1783 ; † after 1834) was a Chilean politician .

Hardly any data has survived from him. All that is known is that from March 29, 1823 to April 5, 1823, after the overthrow of Bernardo O'Higgins , he assumed the function of Chilean head of state . González formed the Plenipotentiary Congress ( Congreso Plenipotenciario ) together with Juan Egaña Risco and Manuel Fernando Vásquez de Novoa y López de Artigas , which, however, was replaced after a few days by the actual ruler Ramón Freire y Serrano , when he declared himself Director Supremo of Chile .
