from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manuel Fernando Vásquez de Novoa y López de Artigas (* 1783 in Concepción , † 1855 in Santiago de Chile ) was a Chilean politician .

Hardly any data has survived from him. All that is known is that from March 29, 1823 to April 5, 1823, after the overthrow of Bernardo O'Higgins , he assumed the function of Chilean head of state . Together with Juan Egaña Risco and Manuel Antonio González Valenzuela, Vásquez formed the Plenipotentiary Congress ( Congreso Plenipotenciario ), which, however, was replaced after a few days by the actual ruler Ramón Freire y Serrano when he declared himself Director Supremo of Chile.
