List of presidents of Chile since the country gained independence:

Chile has been a republic since its independence. In the years up to 1826 it was ruled temporarily by a collective government council ( Junta de Gobierno ), and at times it had a Director Supremo as head of state. Since 1826 the head of state has been the President of the Republic ( Presidente de la República ). From 1891 to 1925 there was a parliamentary system of government, before and since then a presidential system.
