Manuel María Caballero

Manuel María Caballero Rojas (born July 26, 1819 in Vallegrande ; died 1866 in Sucre ) was a Bolivian lawyer, politician and man of letters.

Caballero was the delegate of the city of Vallegrande at the signing of the Bolivian constitution ( Constitución política ) on August 5, 1861. He is the author of La Isla , which is considered the first Bolivian novel.
