Manuel Martínez Íñiguez (born January 3, 1972 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ), also known by the nickname El Matador , is a former Mexican football player whose regular position was in (defensive) midfield .

"El Matador" Martínez began his professional career in the 1991/92 season with his hometown club Chivas Guadalajara , for which he played until the 998/99 season and with which he won the Mexican championship in the summer of 1997 .
