Manuel Schönhuber (born October 25, 1991 in Traunstein ) is a German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Manuel Schönhuber played for his hometown club TuS Traunreut until the C-youth and then switched to the youth of Wacker Burghausen . At the age of 16 he already had his first appearances in the U-19 team that played in the A-Jugend-Bundesliga. Since the 2009/10 season he has been part of the squad of the second team that plays in the Landesliga Süd.

The following year he not only became number one in the reserve, but also moved up to replace René Vollath in the professional team after Andreas Michl left for the winter break . When he had to pause a game after his fifth yellow card, Schönhuber came to his first appearance in the 3rd division on matchday 22 at the age of 19. In the 3-0 defeat against SV Wehen Wiesbaden he could not excel, but he remained number two in the following season, another goalkeeper was not signed. In the summer of 2012, Schönhuber moved to the United States to join the University of Tampa Athletics .
