Manuel Soubeyrand
Manuel Soubeyrand (* 1957 in Cologne ) is a German is theater art director and theater director .
Career
Manuel was born in 1957 in Cologne as the son of the actor Jean Soubeyran and his wife Brigitte Soubeyran . A year after his birth, his mother moved with him to what was then the GDR in East Berlin. After graduating from high school he worked there as a stage worker at the Volksbühne Berlin . From 1979 to 1982 he studied at the State Drama Theater in East Berlin. Then he had an engagement as an actor from 1982 to 1993 with the Berliner Ensemble . From 1988 he was a guest lecturer at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and from 1994 guest lecturer at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music and Theater in Leipzig .
From 1993 he also worked as a freelance director. In 2000 he was hired at the theater in Chemnitz as theater director and chief director. From the 2004/2005 season he was director of the Württemberg State Theater in Esslingen . Since September 1, 2014 he has been the artistic director of the Neue Bühne in Senftenberg .
