Malcolm, 4th Earl of Lennox
Malcolm, 4th Earl of Lennox ( Scottish Gaelic Maol Choluim I, Earl of Lennox , † around 1303 ), was a Scottish magnate .
He was probably still a minor when he inherited the Mormaerdom (Earldom) of Lennox from his grandfather Maldouen (Scottish Gaelic Maol Domhnaich ), who was last documented on March 12, 1251 . His father Malcolm had already died by then.
Malcolm himself first appeared in a document around 1270 when he was presiding over a court hearing. He attended the parliament of 1284 that upheld Princess Margaret's claim to the Scottish throne. In 1290 he agreed in Birgham to marry her to the English Prince Edward .
From 1292 he was an early supporter of the Bruce family and fought alongside Andrew de Moray and William Wallace . He married a woman named Marjorie, with whom he fathered his successor Malcolm († 1333).
He probably died around 1303.
