María Luisa Balaguer Callejón
María Luisa Balaguer Callejón (born 1953 in Almería ) is a Spanish constitutional lawyer and a judge at the Spanish Constitutional Court since 2017 .
Life
María Luisa Balaguer Callejón studied psychology and law at the University of Granada , where she received her doctorate in 1983. She made the state examination for the judicial service. From 1977 to 2003 she was a member of the Málaga Bar Association (Colegio de Abogados de Málaga). Since 1999 she has worked as a lecturer in constitutional law at the University of Malaga and became a professor there in 2003. In 2017 she was appointed as a judge at the Spanish Constitutional Court.
Balaguer worked at the Instituto Andaluz de la Mujer on gender equality. Since 1999 she has published the magazine Artículo 14, una perspectiva de género . She researched the integration of national law and European law. She wrote several monographs and manual contributions.
