María del Carmen Concepción González

María del Carmen Concepción González (born September 15, 1957 ) is a Cuban politician of the Communist Party of Cuba PCC (Partido Comunista de Cuba) , who has been Minister for the Food Industry in the Cuban Council of Ministers since 2009 .

Life

After attending school, María del Carmen Concepción González graduated with a degree in history and social sciences (Licenciada en Historia y Ciencias Sociales) . In 1972 she began her professional career as an office worker in a poultry farm in Baraguá and later was a teacher at a primary school. In 1987 she became a member of the Party Committee and the Office of the Party Committee of the PCC of Consolación del Sur and was then First Secretary of the Party Committee of the PCC of Consolación del Sur between 1990 and 1994, before becoming the first woman First Secretary of the Party Committee of the PCC between 1994 and 2006 the province of Pinar del Río was.

María del Carmen Concepción González, who is also a member of the Central Committee (CC) of the PCC and a member of the National Assembly of People's Power ( Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular ) , became a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee in 2006. In March 2009, she replaced Alejandro Roca Iglesias as Minister for the Food Industry (Ministra de la Industria Alimentaria) in the Cuban Council of Ministers as part of an extensive government reshuffle .
