Marbacher Bund

The Marbacher Bund (1405–1407) was an alliance of Kurmainz , Count Eberhard III , concluded on September 14, 1405 at the instigation of the Archbishop of Mainz, Johann II. Von Nassau . von Württemberg, Margrave Bernhard I of Baden and 17 Swabian cities, which was directed against the power and territorial policy of King Ruprecht . The Wittelsbacher Ruprecht was the son and successor of the Elector Ruprecht II of the Palatinate, and between his house and the neighboring Mainz ore monastery there were repeated disputes over property claims, as well as with Baden and Württemberg . The participating cities also saw their acquired rights threatened. The Marbacher Bund was dissolved again in 1407, but the tensions persisted until Ruprecht's death in 1410.
