Marc-Anthony Honoré (born June 12, 1984 in Pointe-à-Pierre ) is a Trinidadian volleyball player.

Career

Marc-Anthony Honoré played football until he was 16. However, during a soccer game he injured his ankle so badly that he had to take a long break. When his sister Nadiege tried to get him excited about volleyball, the sport didn't really spark his interest at the beginning. At that time he preferred to devote himself to studying economics. His father persuaded him to try it out so that Marc-Anthony could do something for his body too.

From 2003 to 2007 he played in the volleyball team "Red Flash" at St. Francis University and managed for the first time in the history of the university to place his team among the 15 best teams in America. The team reached the final of the Eastern Conference. Marc-Anthony Honoré was named “Player of the Year” by the Eastern Conference and the first player from St. Francis University to be nominated for the All American Team. The nomination made him one of the top 12 players in the NCAA . During the Pan American Cup, in which he took part with the national team from Trinidad and Tobago, the middle blocker caught the attention of the VfB Friedrichshafen assistant coach Ulf Quell and caught the attention of the professional volleyball club and multiple champions. In 2007 Marc-Anthony Honoré signed an initially one-year contract with VfB Friedrichshafen and started the new season with the number nine. He was the first player from Trinidad and Tobago to sign a professional volleyball contract. In the 2007/08 season Marc-Anthony won the cup and German champion with VfB Friedrichshafen. He then extended his contract with the club for another two years. Since the 2008/09 season he competed with the number three and won the German championship again with VfB Friedrichshafen in 2009 and 2010.

In 2010/11 Marc-Anthony Honoré played for Londrina Vôlei in the Brazilian Super League. From 2011 to 2015 he was active in Portugal at Benfica Lisbon . During his time in Portugal he was Portuguese champion three times and reached the final of the European Challenge Cup in 2015 . For the 2015/16 season Marc-Anthony Honoré moved back to VfB Friedrichshafen in the volleyball league . After just one season, he returned to Benfica Lisbon.
