Ulf source (* 4. March 1969 in Halle an der Saale ) is a former German Volleyball - national team and today's volleyball coach.

Career as a player

Ulf Quell played volleyball in the middle block position. With the SC Dynamo Berlin he was GDR champion and GDR cup winner . With SC Berlin he was East German champion and cup winner . At SCC Berlin he played alongside René Hecht , Franko Hölzig , Ronald Triller , Robert Dellnitz , Marco Liefke , Stefan Hübner , Norbert Walter , Frank Dehne and Björn Andrae . Here he was German champion in 1993 and German cup winner three times (1994, 1996 and 2000). Most recently he played in the newly created position of Libero . Ulf Quell also made numerous appearances in the senior national team .

Career as a coach

After finishing his active career, Ulf Quell became assistant trainer at SCC Berlin in 2001 at the side of Mirko Culic . A year later he moved to VfB Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance and became assistant coach to Stelian Moculescu . Here Ulf Quell has been German champion seven times, German cup winner seven times and the 2007 Champions League winner . In 2012/13, Quell also looked after the German national junior team. From 2013 to 2016, Quell was the head coach of the Bundesliga club Chemie Volley Mitteldeutschland . He then moved to VC Strassen in Luxembourg .

Private

Ulf Quell is divorced and has two children.
