Marc-Denis Weitze

Marc-Denis Weitze (born March 3, 1967 in Stade ) is a German chemist and science communicator . Weitze has been a private lecturer at the chair for science communication at the Technical University of Munich since 2016 . He is also head of technology communication at acatech - German Academy of Science and Engineering . Weitze is one of the leading experts in artificial photosynthesis in Germany.

Life

After graduating from high school, Weitze first studied chemistry at the University of Konstanz and the Technical University of Munich. After completing his studies , Weitze received his doctorate in chemistry from the Technical University of Munich. At the same time, he began studying philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . His professional career then led Weitze to the German Museum . After that, Weitze started at acatech - German Academy of Science and Engineering. Here he is currently head of the technical communication area (as of 2019). Since 2002 Weitze has been organizing the Tegernsee Science Days as scientific director . He is also a freelance science journalist and active science cabaret artist. Weitze also organizes science slams , especially in the Munich area.
