Marc-Konstantin Steifensand (born May 14, 1966 in Wuppertal ) is a former German sword fencer . He took part in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and reached 5th place with the team and 22nd in the individual.

Life

Steifensand learned fencing at Königsbacher SC Koblenz under Bela Somos. As a result, he won the German Junior Championship in 1986. In the same year he took part for the first time in a Junior World Championship, in which he came 8th.

In 1987 Steifensand left Koblenz and moved to Würzburg to study. During this time he fought for the Tauberbischofsheim fencing club . Three years later he switched to the University of Aachen and thus to the OFC Bonn as a fencer . Finally he moved to Günzburg in 1996 and from there competed for the Heidenheimer SB .

In 2001, about half a year after participating in the Olympics, Steifensand ended his fencing career.
