Marc Bassingthwaighte (born November 10, 1983 in Windhoek ) is a Namibian mountain bike and road cyclist .

Marc Bassingthwaighte started in 2006 at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in the Cross Country race, where he finished 14th. In 2007 he was third in the individual time trial behind the winner Jacques Celliers at the Namibian Road Cycling Championship . In the 2009 season he won the gold medal in the cross-country competition at the African Mountain Bike Championship in front of the two South Africans Renay Groustra and Ben Swanepoel . In 2010 he won the Nedbank Cycle Classic , the biggest cycling race in Namibia.

The 1.78 meter tall Bassingthwaighte, who was part of the Team Garmin-DCM team in 2012 , was part of the Namibian team for the 2012 Summer Olympics . At the Olympic competition in London , he finished 30th.
