Etzen-Gesäß is a district of Bad König in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse .
Geographical location
The place is in the red sandstone area of the Odenwald at the confluence of the Kinzig in the Mümling , two kilometers north of the core town of Bad König. The federal road 45 , which is part of the German Alps-Baltic Sea holiday route , and the state road 3318 meet in the village . Etzen-Gesäß had a station on the Odenwaldbahn .
history
The village is first mentioned in a document in 1398. At that time the place name was Eczengeseß and the place belonged to the lordship of Breuberg . In 1806 he came to Hessen. In the Middle Ages there was an iron hammer and a forest smithy in Etzen-Gesäß .
On August 1, 1972, Etzen-Gesäß was incorporated into the municipality (from October 10, 1980 city) Bad König as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
