Marc Bielefeld

Marc Bielefeld (* 1966 in Geneva ) is a German journalist and author.

Life

Marc Bielefeld moved to Germany when he was five. He grew up in Hamburg. Bielefeld was disqualified and went to Paris after graduating from high school , where he worked as a dishwasher in a hotel for half a year. Back in Hamburg he worked as a sales representative and copywriter. Bielefeld then studied literature and linguistics at the University of Hamburg and Howard University in Washington, DC There he was the only white person to study at a black university.

Marc Bielefeld has published several books as an author, co-author and ghostwriter since 2005. In 2005 he and his colleague Rüdiger Barth wrote the book Wilde Dichter - The Greatest Adventurers in World Literature , in which the life stories and motivation of the authors Herman Melville , Jack London , Stephen Crane , Joseph Conrad and Ernest Hemingway are traced. Marc Bielefeld lived for many months on his sailing boat for several years and wrote several books about his experiences. He also co-wrote the book Living Unbraked for the Berlin entrepreneur and rally driver Heidi Hetzer , who drove around the world with her vintage car for three years. In 2019 Marc Bielefeld founded the Let's sea GbR with the Hamburg art director Rike Sattler. There was published in 2019 Der Untergang der Adelheid - a German ship tragedy and the story of a dramatic rescue . In 2020 Verena and Achim Sam published the book Der Krebs-Kompass with Marc Bielefeld as co-author.

Marc Bielefeld lives on the Elbe and writes as a freelance author for magazines and newspapers such as mare, Merian, National Geographic, Yacht and Die Zeit.
