Marc Bungenberg

Marc Bungenberg (born August 22, 1968 in Hanover ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Saarland University .

Life

After completing his basic military service in the Bundeswehr, Bungenberg studied law at the University of Hanover from 1990 . He finished this in 1994 with the first state examination in law. He then completed an LL.M. degree at the University of Lausanne , where he obtained the title Master of Laws in 1995 . In 1996 he returned to Germany to do his legal clerkship at the higher court . In 1998 he passed his second state examination in Berlin. A year later, Bungenberg completed his doctorate with Hans-Ernst Folz at the University of Hanover. iur. from. In 2006 he completed his habilitation with Karl Meessen at the University of Jena and received the venia legendi for the subjects of public law, European law, international law and international business law.

This was followed by substitute professorships at the universities of Munich , Dresden , Nuremberg-Erlangen and Siegen . From January 2011, Bungenberg held the full chair for public law, European law, international law and international business law at the University of Siegen. In March 2011 he was visiting professor at the University of Sydney and since September 2011 he has been a permanent visiting professor at the University of Lausanne. Since February 2015, Bungenberg has held the chair for public law, international law and European law at Saarland University.
