Marc Hudy

Marc Hudy (* 1968 in Hanover ) is a German lawyer and science manager. He has been President of the HAWK University for Applied Science and Art Hildesheim / Holzminden / Göttingen since December 1, 2017 . Before that, he was Chancellor and full-time Vice President there from March 2007 to November 2017.

Life

After graduating from high school in Hanover in 1987 and doing community service until 1989, Hudy studied law at the University of Hanover . After the first state examination in 1994, he worked as a doctoral student at the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony on a study on the subject of electronically monitored house arrest - findings on target group planning and problems of implementation in the German sanction system and worked for the German Association for Juvenile Courts and Juvenile Courts . His focus was on juvenile criminal law and juvenile justice, municipal crime prevention as well as the emergence, manifestations and prevention of juvenile delinquency. From 1996 to 1998 he completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Celle . He passed the second state examination in law and was awarded a doctorate by the Leibniz Universität Hannover. jur. PhD.

After completing his doctorate, Hudy was admitted to the bar in Hanover and ran a law firm with Hartmut Pfeiffer until 2001.
From 1995 to 1999, Hudy worked as a part-time lecturer at the Study Institute of the General Administration of Lower Saxony in Bad Münder (today Study Institute Lower Saxony, SIN). From 1998 to 1999 he was a scientific advisor at the Working Group for Educational Aid in Hanover (AFET) and from 1999 to 2001 parliamentary advisor for domestic and legal policy in the Lower Saxony state parliament . In 2000 he was appointed government assessor when he entered the general higher administrative service . From 2001 to 2004 he worked at the Hanover District Government, initially as a department head for law, budget, grant law and EU nature conservation law, then as deputy department head of municipal supervision. From 2004 to 2005, Hudy was delegated from the state of Lower Saxony to the district of Schaumburg and headed the legal office there.

In 2005, Hudy moved to the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport, and from there was entrusted with the management of the full-time Vice President of the Lower Saxony University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Justice in Hildesheim until 2007 . Since his election by the local Senate, Hudy has been Chancellor and full-time Vice President of the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim / Holzminden / Göttingen since March 2007 . After his confirmation by the Senate of the HAWK, he was appointed for a second term in 2013, which runs until 2021.

With effect from January 1, 2017, Hudy was temporarily commissioned to take on the business of the President of the HAWK. On October 4, 2017, he was unanimously elected President by the HAWK Senate, and the University Council approved - also unanimously. He was then appointed President of the HAWK by the Lower Saxony Minister for Science and Culture on November 29, 2017.

Hudy has been honorary chairman / deputy chairman of the Lower Saxony Arbitration Board according to Section 78g of Book VIII of the Social Code since 2012; Since 2013, he has also been a deputy member of the arbitration board under Section 71 of the Lower Saxony Personnel Representation Act at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture.

Hudy is married, has a son and lives in Hanover.
