Marc Oltramare

Marc Oltramare (born November 6, 1916 in Geneva ; † September 18, 2003 ibid) was a Swiss doctor and politician ( PdA ).

Life

Oltramare played a key role in the Centrale Sanitaire Suisse (CSS), which was founded in 1937 during the war in Spain : he was a member of the medical delegation in Yugoslavia from 1944 to 1945, founded the Vietnam Aid Section in 1966 and was President of the French-speaking Switzerland and the Central Board of CSS.

From 1935 he was a member of the Swiss Communist Party , until 1968 (invasion after the Prague Spring ) of the PdA and from 1972 of the SP . Until 1968 he also presided over the Switzerland – Soviet Union . From 1943 to 1947 he was a member of the legislature of the city of Geneva , from 1975 to 1977 that of Thônex .

Marc Oltramare was married three times and was the son of the classical philologist and politician André Oltramare . According to a CIA report, he and his father worked for the Red Three spy network .
