Marc Spautz (born April 10, 1963 in Esch an der Alzette , Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg politician of the Chrëschtlech Sozial Vollekspartei (CSV).

Life

His father is the Luxembourg politician Jean Spautz . Spautz became a member of the city council of Schifflingen . Since 2004 he has been a member of the Chambre des Députés . From April 30 to December 4, 2013, he was briefly Minister of Family and Cooperation in the Juncker-Asselborn II government . Since 2014 he has been the successor to Michel Wolter as chairman of the CSV.

On February 8, 2018, Spautz caused harsh criticism in social media with a controversial, sexist and homophobic comparison at the CSV congress about possible new police uniforms in pink , which was seen as a reference to the homosexuality of Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider .
