Marc Wagemakers (born June 7, 1978 in Maaseik ) is a Belgian football player .

Career

His career began at Excelsior Ophoven-Geistingen before joining the second division Patro Eisden from Maasmechelen in Limburg . At the age of 22 he moved to KVC Westerlo in the first division . Wagemakers won the Belgian Cup ( Beker van België / Coupe de Belgique ) with the KVC in its first season in 2000/01 . In the following he therefore played with Westerlo in the UEFA Cup . There the defender was used in the first round second leg at Hertha BSC , which Westerlo lost 0-1. This eliminated the club from the competition. From 2008 to 2011 he played for VV St. Truiden and moved to Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands in 2011/12 . A year later he went as a player-coach to the amateur club KFC Esperanza Pelt and after the season on to Standard Elen . Here he still plays at irregular intervals to this day.

Marc Wagemakers studied at the Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg in Hasselt and is a physical education teacher. He has been married to his wife Jeannick since December 27, 2002 .
