Marc Wohlrabe

Marc Wohlrabe (* 1972 ) is a German film distributor , publisher and association founder.

Life

Wohlrabe is the son of CDU politician Jürgen Wohlrabe .

From 1992 to 1995 he completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk at Axel Springer Verlag . In 1994 he founded the Zeitbank Verlag in Berlin with three partners, with which he published the monthly city magazine FLYER, which is geared towards the techno and club scene . In addition to selected event notices , music reviews , interviews, film reviews, cultural news and scene reports appeared in FLYER. Issues of FLYER appeared in Berlin (bi-weekly, first edition in November 1994), Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Cologne / NRW, Leipzig and Munich and from 1998 also in New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. The magazine was discontinued in the USA in 2004.

At the same time he worked for the family business Jugendfilm -Filmverleih, which was founded in 1934 by the teacher and educator Willy Wohlrabe . After the death of his father Jürgen Wohlrabe in 1995, he took over the family business in the fourth generation. In 1999 he retired from the film rental business.

In 1995 he founded his consulting company Steinland Consult.

Marc Wohlrabe was press spokesman for the Clubcommission , the association of Berlin club, open air , festival and cultural event organizers , from 2000 to 2003 , and from 2012 to 2016 a member of the extended board with a focus on politics and urban development.

In 2016 he was co-initiator of the City After Eight conference .
