Career
society
Steve Moses began his career with the Boston Junior Bruins in the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) and Empire Junior Hockey League (EmJHL). In 2006 he was selected by the Lewiston MAINEiacs from the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec as part of the CHL Import Draft , but decided against a move to the Canadian Junior League and instead began studying at the University of New Hampshire . At the same time, he played for the college's ice hockey team, the New Hampshire Wildcats , between 2008 and 2012 in Hockey East , which is part of the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . In the 2009/10 season, Moses won the Conference championship in Hockey East with the Wildcats . The following year he was the third-best goalscorer of the NCAA main round with 14 goals and was elected to the All-Academic Team of Hockey East. In his last NCAA season 2011/12 Moses scored 22 goals and was - together with Barry Almeida - the third top scorer in Hockey East. He was also the top scorer of his team with 35 scorer points and acted as assistant captain .
In March 2012, he completed an amateur try-out in the AHL team Connecticut Whale , where it was used in a total of nine games, scoring two goals. After he had not received a job in the AHL or NHL following this trial contract, Moses decided to move to Europe. On May 14, 2012 he signed a one-year contract with the Finnish club Jokerit from the SM-liiga . In his debut 2012/13 season , Moses scored 22 goals and 12 assists in 55 games. In December 2012, Moses extended his contract with Jokerit for two years.
In the summer of 2014 Jokerit was accepted into the Continental Hockey League and Moses became the top player of his team in this league. In February 2015 he scored his 36th goal of the 2014/15 season , setting a new goal record within the league. His offensive qualities subsequently aroused the interest of various NHL franchises, so that Moses was signed by the Nashville Predators in April 2015 . After the attacker could not recommend himself for the NHL squad during the pre-season, he was handed over to the Milwaukee Admirals farm team in the American Hockey League shortly before the start of the season . There he played a total of 16 games at the beginning of the 2015/16 season before he returned to the KHL in December 2015 and signed a one-year contract with SKA Saint Petersburg . With the SKA, he won the Gagarin Cup in 2017 and with it the Russian championship . After this success he did not get a new contract there and returned to the American Hockey League. There he was under contract until December of the same year before he returned to Jokerit Helsinki and signed a contract until the end of the 2019/20 season.
In March 2020 it was announced that SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers had signed him until the end of the 2021/22 season .
International
In November 2013 he took part in the Germany Cup with the United States national team and won this tournament. In the summer of 2015, he represented his home country at the 2015 World Cup , where he won the bronze medal.
