Marcel Allain

Marcel Allain (born September 15, 1885 in Paris , † August 25, 1969 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye ) was a French writer, best known as a co-author of the Fantômas crime novels with Pierre Souvestre .

Allain came from a middle-class family, studied law and was a journalist. He became Souvestre's assistant and both published their first book in 1909.

From 1911 they published the Fantômas series at Fayard at a rapid pace . After Souvestre's death in February 1914, Allain continued the series alone (1925 to 1963). Other novels of his were less successful.
