Marcel Meeuwis (born October 31, 1980 in Goirle ) is a Dutch football player .

Career

Meeuwis played his first two professional games in the 2000/01 season for Willem II . After he only made four appearances in his second season, he moved to VVV Venlo in the Eerste Divisie and became a regular player there. In 2006 Meeuwis moved to the Eredivisie to Roda JC Kerkrade , where he was also one of the top performers in the following years.

On May 18, 2009, he announced that he had signed a three-year contract with Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After Meeuwis only made two short substitutions in the first half of the 2010/11 season, Borussia Mönchengladbach announced on January 31 that he would be loaned to Feyenoord Rotterdam until the end of the season . With the Dutch, he was in the remaining 13 games in the Eredivisie .

On July 7, 2011, Meeuwis announced his move to VVV-Venlo , where he signed a contract that ran until 2014.

International career

In March 2009 Meeuwis completed a game for the Dutch B national team against the German U-21 national team , which his team won 4-0. He made a total of two B internationals for the Netherlands .
