Marcel Pellegrin (born December 24, 1907 in Arles , district Salin-de-Giraud , † December 20, 1974 in Martigues ) was a French football player .

Career

Pellegrin began playing football as a defender at a local club in his hometown of Salin-de-Giraud; later he wore the jersey of the amateur club AS Bones . From there he went to French-occupied Algeria and played for a club from the capital, Algiers . When he returned to France in 1929, he was resumed at his original club from Salin-de-Giraud. In 1930 it was with Olympique Marseille the French champion of 1929 who signed him; due to the lack of a professional league , however, the player retained his amateur status.

In the following years he could not record a title win with Marseille, but secured participation in Division 1 , which was introduced in 1932 as the national top division and professional league. After he had missed the start of paid professional football in France, he was called up for the first time in the first class on September 18, 1932, and thus on the second game day in a 3-1 win against Olympique Nîmes . Immediately afterwards, he played two more games, with the 3-1 win against FC Mulhouse being his third and last first division game. His teammates secured the team the runner-up at the end of the season, while Pellegrin decided at the same time to end his career in football.
