Marcel Trocoli Castro

Marcel Trocoli Castro (born August 1, 1982 ) is a German journalist and documentary filmmaker .

Trocoli Castro volunteered as a video journalist at the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung publishing house in Osnabrück. He worked as a TV editor and presenter for the in-house local broadcaster "os1.tv" and, since 2014, has also been editor-in-chief for the broadcaster.

From 2013 he uncovered sect-like structures of an evangelical free church that wanted to build a megachurch in Osnabrück for up to 3000 believers. His published research has been the subject of controversy and has also received national attention. In 2016 his film "Soul Catcher Lebensquelle" was released in which he bundled his long-term research.

In 2014 he published his video journalistic documentary " Jonathan - One Heart and Thousand Souls ", which premiered at the Independent FilmFest Osnabrück . The film portrays the eventful life of the Osnabrück artist Norbert Henze, known as Jonathan, and addresses, among other things, the abuse of the artist as a child by his own mother.

He has lived in Berlin since 2016 and works as an author and reporter for Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg .
