Marcelo Fernández , full name Marcelo Juvenal Fernández García , (born April 4, 1988 in Empalme Olmos ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
The 1.73-meter-tall offensive player Fernández was part of the squad of the first division Defensor Sporting at the beginning of his career in the Apertura 2010 and the Clausura 2011 . In the 2010/11 season he came there for an 18-minute short assignment (no goal) in the Primera División and ran twice (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana . In July 2011 he joined the Club Atlético Rentistas . There he played 24 first division games in the 2011/12 season and scored four goals. In mid-January 2013 he was loaned to the Brazilian club Toledo Colônia Work . After he had played 13 games in Paranaense 1 with the Brazilians and scored twice in the opposing goal, he returned to Rentistas for the 2013/14 season and at the end of the season made 26 appearances (three goals) in the Primera División. In the 2014/15 season he was used 15 times (one goal) in the top Uruguayan league. Since the beginning of July 2015 he has been under contract with the first division promoted Plaza Colonia . There he was used in two league games (no goal) in Apertura 2015. At the end of January 2016, he moved to the second division side Boston River , for whom he contributed to promotion at the end of the season with eleven league appearances and one goal in the following Clausura. In August 2016 he joined the second division club Sportivo Cerrito , for which he appeared ten times in the Segunda División in the 2016 season and scored one goal.
