Marcin Pałys
Marcin Jakub Pałys (born December 5, 1964 in Warsaw ) is a Polish chemist.
Life
Marcin Pałys attended the VI. general education Tadeusz Reytan Lyceum in Warsaw. He completed a degree in chemistry at the University of Warsaw , which he completed in 1987 with a master's degree . He then worked briefly at the university as an assistant scientist. In 1988 he went to the University of Twente as a doctoral candidate , where he received his doctorate in 1992 . He then returned to the University of Warsaw, where he completed his habilitation in 2005. In the same year he became Vice Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, and three years later he became Deputy Rector of the university. In 2010 he was appointed associate professor. In 2012 he was elected rector to succeed Katarzyna Chałasińska-Macukow . His re-election for the 4-year cadence took place in 2016, there was no opposing candidate.
Marcin Pałys is married and has one son.
Awards
- 2014: Order of the Marienland Cross in the fourth grade
- 2016: Officer of the Ordre national du Mérite
