from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marco Evaristti (* 1963 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Danish artist with Chilean origins. He became known for his works that addressed taboos in a provocative way.

Evaristti studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen before causing a sensation in 2000 with the installation Helena in the Trapholt Art Museum ( Kolding ): The object was ten blenders filled with live goldfish . The visitors were asked to turn on the devices. This project was exhibited again in 2006 and Evaristti had to face charges in Austria for violating animal welfare laws.

In another project in 2004 Evaristti colored the tip of an iceberg in Greenland with around 3,000 liters of blood red paint. In 2008, he covered the top of Mont Blanc with red cloth and a flag that read "Pink State".

At the 11th aquamediale 2015 Evaristti participated with the multimedia installation Brotherhood on the Lübben love island.
