Marco Parodi

Marco Parodi (born March 1, 1943 in Sanremo ) is an Italian theater director .

Life

As a theater director, Parodi gained a lot of attention for his productions a. a. by Bertolt Brechts Die Horatier und die Kuratier , Lope de Vegas Fuente Ovejuna and especially the latter Il Genovese liberale , which was performed in the center of the city of Genoa . Even Shakespeare and Pirandello are among the staged Parodi authors. In addition to radio work, he made some interesting television films, including the 1971 version of his theater production in Genoa and 1984 La maschera e il volto . In the early 1970s he wrote and directed Brecht in America, an experimental series for the screen, quoting from documents and minutes of the McCarthy agency. I padroni dell'estate , shot in 1987 and rarely shown, tells of the struggle of young Sardinians in the 1950s against the destruction of their environment through the building boom.
