Marcus Engelke

Marcus Engelke (born March 3, 1972 ) is a former German basketball player . During his career, the 2.01 tall center player was among other things in the squad of the Bundesliga clubs Oldenburger TB and BCJ Hamburg .

Career

Engelke moved in 1997 from Eimsbütteler TV to the second division club SC Rist Wedel and developed there to the top performer in the center position. In 2000 he was obliged by the Bundesliga club Oldenburger TB and then moved to BCJ Hamburg during the 2000/01 season within the Bundesliga . For Hamburg, he scored a total of 57 points and 58 rebounds in 17 Bundesliga games. After the season Engelke ended his professional career and then played again for the Hamburg club Eimsbütteler TV. In the special edition of the specialist magazine basketball for the 2000/01 Bundesliga season, Engelke was described as an "ambitious fighter" and a "powerhouse" with regard to his strengths as a basketball player. The banker who studied business administration is now an entrepreneur and also works as an independent consultant and trainer for companies and individuals. In 2020, he became the performance coordinator in the basketball department of Eimsbütteler TV.
