Marcus Furius Camillus (Consul 8)
Marcus Furius Camillus († 37) was a Roman politician and senator in the first half of the 1st century AD.
Camillus came from the old Patrician family of the Furii . His sons were Marcus Furius Camillus, brother of the Arval in 37, and Lucius Arruntius Camillus Scribonianus , usurper in 42. His daughter was Livia Medullina . He was also a member of the Arval Brothers College. In the year 8 Camillus became a full consul and in the year 17/18 proconsul of the province of Africa .
Camillus, although he was considered to be bellorum expers (inexperienced in warfare), successfully took up the fight with the legio III Augusta and auxiliary troops there, led by the Numidier Tacfarinas , and received the triumphalia insignia from Emperor Tiberius .
