The Mare Frigoris (Latin for "sea of cold") is a " lunar sea " on the earth-facing side of the moon .
It extends north of Mare Imbrium and Mare Serenitatis , outside the Procellarum - basin .
The Mare is located on the selenographic coordinates 56 ° 00 'N; 1 ° 24 'E. Its mean diameter is 1596 km.
